Photoshop: Vivid Glow
A simple effect achieved by using Gaussian Blur and the hard light layer mode. Using different settings while using the High Pass and Gaussian Blur filters will produce different results, so feel free to experiment.All images used in this tutorial are copyright © Getty Images.
Step 1
Duplicate your image and go to Filter - Other - High Pass [radius: 0,3] to sharpen the image and click OK. Set the layer to Linear Light.Step 2
Duplicate the original image and pull it to the top in the layers window. Go to Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur [radius: 2,0] and click OK. Set the layer to Hard Light. The result of this tutorial is as seen below.

Sure you're putting in "," and not "."? Works fine for me. Can just drag
the sliders otherwise.

On step one when you have to enter the radius, it won't let me input a
coma. :-(
